Stealing Hearts by Susan Ashworthy

Stealing hearts fall somewhere between…in a lot of ways. It’s longer than a short story, but too short to be a novel. It’s mainly heterosexual, but has some F/F action. It has some light bondage but no true BDSM. You want to like the characters, but find they aren’t really that sympathetic. And the story line has potential but doesn’t quite make the grade.
Jason has broken up with Jennifer, but not before giving her his grandmother’s locket, which is meant for his wife. It has special meaning since his sister wore it before her death. But Jennifer refuses to return the locket, claiming it brings her good luck.
Jason breaks into Jennifer’s house to try and retrieve the necklace, but runs instead into her roommate, Alison. He tells Alison the story and asks her to meet with him to discuss it. They end up dating, and eventually scheming to retrieve the necklace. But they come to find they have more in common than the locket. Can true love grow under such adverse circumstances?
