Review:

I found this to be a truly terrible book. Not only is it confusing to follow, but there is no one to like, no softening of the plot, and no redeeming hope offered in a story of torture, subjugation,  and pain.  Quite honestly, I couldn’t finish reading it and skimmed the later chapters.

“Wanda” finds herself in an insane asylum, tortured by the guards, threatened by the other inmates, and suffering from total amnesia.  She is taken under the control of Dr. Varata and eventually becomes his willing sex slave.

It turns out she was sent back from the future to stop the decay of the humans on earth, and is one of several Harbingers who have been sent back to protect the future.  But Dr. Varata was the first Harbinger and when he found he couldn’t control the decay of earth, decided to enjoy it instead and implemented a tracking device that allows him to find other Harbingers as they arrive and turn them into his sex slaves, leaving the future to its own devices.

This is hardcore BDSM, involving true torture, sensory deprivation, extreme bondage, and other methods devised to control women. Not a fun read, and not an author I would want to sample again.
