Reece and Scarlet have everything a loving couple could want, except a hot kinky sex life. Malachi, an experienced Dom, steps in to help them sort that out. Not only is he a terrible memory from Reece’s past, he’s a smartass and damaged goods too.

As they all learn to trust each other, Malachi becomes more than just their kink coach. It’s a full-on brat smackdown, and no heart gets out unscathed.

Warning: Contains unrepentant brats, surprise orgasms, a Domme with training wheels, and a Dom whose tongue is registered as a weapon of mass seduction

Review:

When Black, Shaw & Silverwood write a book, you know it’s going to be a good one! The Badass Brats Series is probably one of the better written series, by multiple authors, that anyone who enjoys erotica could read!

The relationship between Reece and Scarlet is something that a lot of people aspire to. Their openness with each other, their faults, likes and dislikes, and then you add kink into the relationship and they get just a bit lost. Enter the goofy Malachi. Ah, but there is past history between Reece and Malachi, he has to get her past that to see him as the man he is today, especially when he starts falling for her.

Then Malachi starts falling for Scarlet too, now what’s he going to do? Luckily for them they get that figured out for the most part. Reese realizes she really and truly is a sub, but a brat at times too. This is part of the Badass Brats series for a reason! You will never view a clothespin the same ever again!

The entire story will keep you on the edge of your seat, or bed, or whatever! One of the best scenes in the entire story has to be Scarlet and Malachi and who is stronger. You knew that this was building up to a smackdown and you know who’s going to win, but still, it is so hot that you’re glued to the book and won’t want to put it down!

Once again another spectacular read from the trio! I can honestly say that I love the Badass Brats series and can’t wait for the next one because I know that I’m going to enjoy it just as much as I have the rest of the books in this series! You gals rock!

Review:

Maledom with coarse degrading situations is Mr. Jewell’s specialty. In this collection, it’s a bit rough. Or it could be perhaps I’ve read too many books since I first started reading Mr. Jewell years ago and my tastes have changed.

This collection of stories revolve around women getting into BDSM. It’s a slice of life view which treats the reader to just enough to get the juices flowing but not enough to seal the deal. It used to be his stories would have a bit more plot and detailed humiliating kinky sex. In this latest collection, it feels unfinished and toned down. The stories are more a stream of consciousness rather than a concise beginning, middle and end. The characters are bland and forgettable. Even this is okay if the BDSM sex is hardcore and non-con.

The BDSM in this collection is unimaginative. It’s disappointing in its rushed and sketchy descriptions. The attention to detail is not there nor is there a sense of erotic interest. Instead of a musical feast of sexual depravity for the reader to revel in, it’s background elevator music. This comes as a surprise since Mr. Jewell’s previous novels have been gritty in its detail. He doesn’t need to use fancy sexual equipment. He generally sets the scene up with hawt sexual submission.  This element is missing in the collection and leaves a reader confused and hungry for something dirtier and rougher. The framework for this debauchery exists, it just feels watered down from Mr. Jewell’s usual intensity. This BDSM collection is best suited for those just getting their feet wet with BDSM fantasies.

Review:

Chanze has been living in despair for what seems like forever. When a freak accident brings firefighter Delano into his life Chanze finds hope. He seizes his one opportunity to find freedom and just maybe love but Chanze does not forget his friends and longs to help them. Can Delano really help Chanze or will it all be in vain?

This is an intense read. Emotions run high in this story. Chanze enjoys and needs more than just a bite of pain with his sex and he endures more than he should as a Rent-A-Boy. I really enjoyed meeting Delano and the other men from his unit. They are a bunch of take no crap alpha men who are comfortable in who they are. I loved seeing the big bad men find their matches with the men that they intend to rescue. Chanze and Delano are a wonderful couple and I enjoyed seeing the two form their bond.

As hot of a read as this story is we also get to see the emotions of the men as they realize that there may be more to life than fighting. Love comes to them when they least expect it. I hope that this is not the last time that we get to visit this world.

The fairies are going extinct. The trolls are trying to take the land for their own nefarious purposes and King Carrick, ruler of the fairy kingdom, has found a human mate. Now he just has to convince her to stay amidst the chaos. Brook finds herself in love with a fairy, as if that isn’t strange enough, she’s kidnapped by the trolls and asked to be queen of this fantasy kingdom. Her heart screams approval but a man named Valen and some deadly trolls stand between them.

Review:

Fairy Flavor by Ana Keraleigh is a sweet love story of a Fairy King finding his new Queen. The story is filled with love and danger at every corner. The Fairy kingdom is slowly dying out and the only way to save it is to have sexual contact with human women in hopes of them actually being able to carry a fairy baby. However, it surprises the King when he actually falls in love with his little human woman. Fairies, trolls, humans, and love oh my!

Ana Keraleigh’s Fairy Flavor is an interesting read but definitely not a BDSM book. A sensual ménage does not make the book a BDSM book. This book has some kink to it and is a delightful read regardless of the fact that it is not BDSM. There is something to be said about a touch of kink in a book. For those that love a good fairytale then this is the book for you.

Through the Eyes of a Male Submissive by Andie Lea throughtheeyes

Story Rating: 1 out of 5 paddles

Review:

With this title, a reader would deduce it is a story about a male submissive’s journey. While there is some submission by Ryan, it’s rather messy. Ryan is a rich attorney who finds the woman of his dreams, Via. Via is an aspiring chef. The story starts with them meeting at a night club. It seems to start out well. It quickly devolves into a story where everything but the kitchen sink is thrown in. In addition, it doesn’t make much sense.

First, why would a good looking, rich, high powered attorney have self-esteem problems? This doesn’t really gel. The story gives a bit about how he “lost” his confidence but a reader needs to suspend their disbelief to buy it. Second, how is a woman who is a virgin at twenty-five so practiced at being a dominatrix? This may also cause a reader to raise their eyebrows. There are several examples of where situations defied logic. One could say, this is a fiction story. It’s not supposed to be realistic. Personal preference for me, the book needs to make sense.

At the half way mark, this book is now torturous. The characters are shallow and annoying.  Ryan turns into a pussy whipped boyfriend. Via turns into the stereotypical psychotic unreasonable girlfriend. Seriously, the man asks a woman to marry him; she turns him down. He then offers her a room of her own at his place instead. Why the hell is she pissed at him? If this is the kind of behavior acceptable from a lover, then the guy gets what he deserves. Via need a strong whipping to get her back in line. Each little “miffed” temper tantrum she throws makes her less appealing. Ryan doesn’t know if he’s coming or going with her emotional blackmailing.  Ryan, get a life; dump the bitch.

Added to this toxic relationship, suddenly there is a kidnapper and a mystery thrown in. Pick a genre and stick to it. Yes, there are writers who can merge the two – erotica and suspense. This book did not merge it well. It comes out of left field and it makes an already poorly constructed book worse. It would be better if Ms. Lea worked on her world building and focused on a single plot line. From there, she can enhance and add cohesive threads to make it richer. It is also recommended for more research into BDSM. From a BDSM perspective, either Ms. Lea is unable to translate it well into the written word or her research and experimentation is minimal.  This book would have been better without the BDSM. The BDSM is supposed to be the pivotal point, but it is lost in translation by the random story tangents.

Sweet. Sweeter. by Kyoko Church sweet

Blurb:

SWEET. SWEETER. by Kyoko Church is the first story in the MADE FOR HIRE anthology. Domestic bliss takes on a whole new meaning when an unexpected infatuation suddenly brings another man into Laura’s life. Now, she needs to make some decisive choices…lest she end up in a very sticky situation.

Review:

Sweet. Sweeter. By Kyoko Church is a story of one woman’s desire to be treated like a lover instead of a convenience for her boyfriend. But instead of finding a solid lover in her boyfriend she finds solace in teaching an eighteen year old boy the pleasures that a woman’s body can bring him and the pleasures he can bring her. It takes more to be a Mistress than simply wanting to be one or calling herself a Mistress. Teaching a young boy about his body and pleasure does not a Mistress make.

Kyoko Church’s sexual scenes are lackluster at best and require more imagination when it comes to the storyline itself. This short story though decent is not a BDSM novel. Using terms such as Mistress does not make this a BDSM novel. Even though the story itself has potential it is not fully developed.
