Drew Prescott thinks he has to be perfect to attract the Dom of his dreams. However, after a year of repressing his true personality, he must face the fact that Dominant Holt Benedict still isn’t interested. In a desperate effort to move on with his life, he contacts Madame Eve, requesting a Dominant who will make him forget Holt so he can try to heal his broken heart. But when his date demonstrates a different way of seeing things, their one night changes everything and forces Drew to recognize the difference between being a perfect sub and offering perfect submission to the man he craves.

The Perfect Sub is a short story that is fast paced and packs a lot of punch within its pages. Drew’s desire to be perfect for the Dom of his dreams leave him frustrated and let down as he watches the man he wants above all others choose every other sub but him at the club they both attend. The lengths he goes to to suppress his true self is saddening, and his desperation to get over the Dom of his dreams is understandable. After a year of trying so hard to get his man, desperate times call for desperate measures.

The set up for the date that was arranged by Madame Eve is incredibly erotic and thorough. While the surprise of who his mystery Dom is isn’t really much of a surprise, Drew’s reaction is believable. The conversation between Holt and Drew flows so naturally and it feels that it develops organically. The kink elements of the story are super hot and well described, letting the reader have a front row seat to the fun. The eroticism of the entire story is very high. Sexual tension drips from the pages and the way that Holt, Drew’s Dom for his night, guides Drew through what he wants to do to him…. Phew! This is a story with a Dom that knows exactly what he wants and has no problems getting it!

The flow of the story is fast, but nothing about this story is rushed. Jayson Locke shows a very strong writing style and the editing is solid. The BIGGEST complaint this reader has is that this story had a strong enough foundation to be much longer. The character created in this story could have supported a full length novel and the writing ability of the author would have done the characters justice. But, if you are looking for a quick, smoking hot read with some great Kink and genuine caring…. this it’s absolutely the book for you!
