Review:

Lana is sent for DEEP training on Station Six that has a strange reputation. Her brother is also assigned there and has asked that his best friend take on her training. Things get complicated when Catch is attracted to her.

This was an interesting book as it is technically a military story in outer space. The main reason I paid a lot of attention to some of the details is that I served in the military, so I paid a lot of attention to the story line since this is also a book with some intense BDSM scenes in a few places. I will caution that some scenes could trigger some readers, especially readers that were in the military. That being said, the relationship between Catch and Lana was mutual as readers will see as the story progresses.

There were also some interesting subtexts between Lana and her brother as all siblings have.  This also spilled over as Lana and Catch realized their feelings for each other and caused a rift between Adam and Catch.

I liked that Lana was willing to take a stand for herself and let Catch know what she wouldn’t tolerate. She let Catch know when he was being an asshole, but she also learned about herself.  The story went between her training and relationship. I had to admire Catch when he did the right thing when it came to letting her follow her dream at the end of training when he had to decide where her next duty station would be.

The BDSM portion of the book was intense, though there some instances where limits were ignored. The fact that Lana had a safe word and used it once was good. There were flashbacks from Catch that indicated he was actually a switch. A few other characters helped the story along, and I loved that the masseuse was called Master. Readers also need to be aware that the story ends with a cliff hanger.

Charlie Yates is desperate. It’s almost Christmas and his flight home from college has been delayed. For days. Charlie promised his little sister Ava he’d be home for her first holiday season since going into remission from leukemia. Now he’s stuck on the opposite coast and someone else grabbed the last rental car. Someone he hasn’t even spoken to in four years. Someone who broke his heart.

Gavin Bloomberg’s childhood friendship with Charlie ended overnight after a day of stolen kisses. With years of resentment between them, they don’t want to be in the same room together, let alone a car. But for Ava’s sake, Gavin agrees to share the rental and drive across the country together.

As they face unexpected bumps along the road, can Charlie and Gavin pave the way to a future together?

Review:

This is a wonderful holiday m/m Christmas love story. Both characters are incredibly likeable and have very distinct voices. I found myself rooting for Charlie and Gavin to get together. And boy do they! The sex is way hot and once they start fucking I found myself hoping they would end up with a HEA. They are such a great couple. If you like m/m or are looking to dip your toes into the m/m genre I highly recommend this.

Is he worth the heartbreak? At nearly forty, Julie isn’t so sure she’ll ever find a man who is, so she’s vowed that all her big 4-0 decisions will have zip to do with relationships. A successful theater manager, she agrees to travel to North Carolina and help a friend put her erotic performance theater on its feet. Julie has always been curious and drawn to the BDSM world, and now she can safely explore that world in the environment she knows best. Desmond Hayes is the roofing contractor repairing their rundown theater building, but he’s also a rigger, well-known in the BDSM world for his rope artistry. He’s not just a top, though; he’s a Dom whose unexpected quirks mesh too well with Julie’s eccentric personality and awakens her submissive side. From the time he was born, Des has been fighting the odds against him. Because of that, he’s kept his relationships inside the scene with clear boundaries. While Julie had almost given up on finding a person worth loving through better or worse—or pleasure and pain—Des never expected to receive that gift. He’s not letting that treasure get away—no matter how much rope he has to use to bind her to him.

Review:

Whenever I pick up a book from this author I know that it will be good. Joey W. Hill knows how to engage her readers and fleshes out her characters so well that you feel as if you are right there with them and part of their world. The emotions in this book jump right off the pages as you are pulled into Des and Julie’s story. Worth the Wait is a wonderful story of finding the right person for you and never giving up the fight for them.

Right from the beginning both Julie and Des endeared themselves to this reader. The two are a great match both giving the other just what they need. There are many obstacles that the two must face and the most important one being the health issues that Des has. As Julie deals with her own issues about relationships Des must learn to let people in and to trust in the love that Julie is offering. The two go through so much as they fight their way to love. Their story is a wonderful read that will pull on your heartstrings and have you pulling for love.

Con Boys Are Naughty by J.P. Barnaby conboysare

Review:

Brandon is an extremely introverted writer, and dedicated submissive to his Dom Sean. Brandon’s books are very popular, but he is so painfully shy that attending cons or doing any of the other things popular authors do for publicity scares the life out of him. Being the good Dom he is, Sean respects Brandon’s boundaries, but he also tries to stretch his sub’s limits from time to time, which is why he convinces Brandon to attend a con.

“Con Boys are Naughty” is a short little novelette running just 40 pages. For it’s length, we get to know quite a bit about the kind of relationship Sean and Brandon have. All of which leads up to a scene they have at the con with another man. The scene is quite hot, although in itself it’s not very kinky.

While this is a very short book, it still reads as a complete story, although the characters are already engaging enough that you will probably wish the book were a little longer. It’s quite clear that Brandon has a back story that goes some way to explaining why he is the way he is, but we don’t get to know any of it. It’s this added dimension that makes the story quite engaging despite the shortness.

There are only a couple of scenes in the story, a short one between Sean and Brandon at the start, and the three-way in the hotel near the end. Neither scene is very kinky, but the first one is enough to show us the kind of relationship they have and the degree of trust Brandon has in his Dom Sean.
