If you are looking for a series that has as the suspense of a missing person story and an erotic thriller then If I Were You might just be what you are looking for.

The first thing I noticed about this book was the fresh way it was handled. Sara is a teacher that comes across the erotic journals of a woman named Rebecca. As she reads, Sara becomes more engaged in the journals, to the point that it becomes an obsession. When she learns that the woman whose dark erotic thoughts she has been reading has gone missing, it pushes Sara in directions she never thought she would travel.

Sara takes a job at the very museum that Rebecca worked at. Having read the evocative journals, she knows that someone there was involved with Rebecca, and as she slips into her new job, Sara’s own story really begins. The unknown element that haunts this book is in itself alluring. Match that with the relationship that Sara is beginning with Chris, a local artist and the tensions that she experiences at her job at the gallery and you have a recipe for a scintillating tale. Mark, the gallery owner is a character that turns heads. He has a dominant personality that clashes with Chris pretty much from the start.

Review:

Denise has always been a strong woman-she had to be to find a spot on the FBI at such a young age. But her strength also intimidated most men-some even wanted her to be in charge in the bedroom. But Denise’s secret fantasies revolve around having someone else in control in the bedroom.

She quickly discovers her new boss, Victor, isn’t intimated by her-and as a Dom, wants to be in charge in the bedroom. After some trial and error, they embark on an affair-until he tells her they need to cool it in the office and she thinks he means cool it altogether. Can these two strong willed people overcome their misunderstanding?

This was a good little novella with some issues presented by the fact that this is a boss/subordinate relationship and could lead to complications later-including charges of sexual harassment. The sex scenes are hot and include bondage, rope work, impact and anal play. It could have used a bit more storyline and delved a little more into the issues of a work/personal relationship, but overall was not bad.

Review:

Andy goes back to Club Splendor, trying to regain some feeling by watching like her late husband and she used to do. Andy has shut herself off after her husband and son died, and Hunter and her in-laws are worried. What Andy doesn’t realize is that Hunter has been in love with her even before she married his best friend.

The author did a good job conveying Andy’s feelings and guilt about the death of her family. Hunter’s feelings came through as well, and I liked the way the author used them to shock Andy into taking a hard look at what she had been doing and how it was affecting those around her. Andy’s in-laws were great and show a relationship that most families don’t have.

While Sweetest Salvation was a very good romantic story that also shows how some people deal with grief, I would not really put this into a kink or BDSM category, though there were two very tame scenes at the club. I was very surprised about Hunter and how he dealt with Andy, especially since he was one of the owners of Club Splendor.

This short story is hot and combines a sexy vampire with an exciting bout of BDSM. My only complaint is that it was too short-it would be nice to see this one more fully developed.

Nurse Jade McKenna is accustomed to seeing the world as a dark place due to the fact she is alone in the world and works in ICU, where she periodically loses a patient. It was after losing a patient that she met Isaac Cairns on the rooftop of the hospital. Her tears touched him and he offered her a shoulder to cry on.

The next time she met him, in ICU, he helped a critical ill patient recover. Afterwards he took her home and divulged his secret. When he began seducing her, she felt as though he was weaving a spell around her. Their sexy encounter is really hot and includes bondage and paddling. The story leaves the door open for more of the story-and I would really like to read more.

This was a fun and light-hearted change of pace from the heavy “Me Dom, You sub,” many of the BDSM novels are.

At 23, Marianne, new to Boston, has never had an orgasm during sex. She goes to a club to see if maybe kinky sex would be the key. She attends a slave auction and is purchased by “Mr. Woody.” The session is all she dreamed it could be and more. But the next day her determination to keep her work life and private life separate falls apart as Mr. Woody is none other than her boss, Jack Marchetti.

Owner of a string of successful retail stores, Jack is determined to keep his relationships limited to just sex. He still hasn’t recovered from losing his wife five years. His determination crumbles in the reality of the bliss to be found with “Claudia,” who, he discovers, is the new employee in his office.

Can the feisty bookworm from Vermont find a lasting happiness with an older man, who is already rumored to have a girlfriend?

While Jack sometimes lets his inner Dom out, he is not someone bogged down with protocol or playacting. Both of them love the intense sex they have and they don’t need impact play or torture to keep each other happy, but the scenes are hot enough that such things aren’t needed.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I will look for more from this author. The story contains mild BDSM, anal play and exhibitionism.

This was a pleasant surprise of a book.

It’s a romantic and somewhat dark tale set in near-future post-plague Atlanta where the government has decreed that only humans with superior genetics shall be allowed to reproduce. There are differing grades of “quality”, and the lowest of these, “Ambers”, are exiled outside the better part of the city and allowed to have only one child. The Ambers have formed their own culture, its customs created out of the need to support one another. Touching is as common as breathing, sex is freely enjoyed, and cuddle-piles are a way of life. In the midst of their dystopian exile, they’ve made an interpersonal web of beautiful connections. One of the tools they use sometimes is the mingling of pleasure and pain.

Jaci is genetically evaluated and found to have one of the automatic disqualifier genes – one that would potentially lead to a lethal disability for her children. Born a Sapphire, one of the higher grades of human, she’s summarily sterilized and sent to live in the Amber zone as a non-reproducing “fallow.” Culture shock ensues. She’s assigned a roomate, hunky cop Xander, and both of them find their lives complicated when they start to fall for one another. Making things worse, there’s a serial killer murdering fallows, and Xander is the one on the case.

Xander tries to alleviate Jaci’s sorrow with sympathy, cuddling, and pleasure, while also not burdening her with his feelings for her during a difficult time. Jaci struggles to understand Xander’s behavior, and what her place is in the relationship as well as the culture.

When Brad finds out about Holly’s secret that she has been hiding from him he decides to do something just for the two of them. A nice surprise that should bring them closer together but Holly finds out that her wonderful Brad may not be who she thought he was or could be.

While I enjoyed the storyline of this book I was not pulled into the story at all. There was not much character build up or back story so it was hard to connect with Holly and Brad. Things happen rather quickly and Holly jumps in with both feet and eyes closed. There was some confusion for me with the dating and living situation of Holly and Brad. It seems as if they are living together in the beginning as twice Holly comes home to Brad but yet in another part of the story she is taken home with no more Brad around. Holly herself seems to be a bit naïve and not wanting to make any waves in any way making her very wishy-washy and easy to walk on. When she does stand up for herself it is fast and fleeting. I did however find Holden to be a good man and enjoyed meeting him. Holden may just be the right man for Holly. This story is fast paced and felt more like a glimpse at a bigger story and a little more story and character development would have been nice.

I have never read Sherlock Holmes. This title was erotic telling of Sherlock Holmes’ investigations. It was interesting but lacked my favorite theme of BDSM. There were some kinky moments but no real bondage, domination, submission, or sadomasochism. With each story I looked for hints of BDSM but really there was a bit of kink mixed in with stories about Sherlock Holmes and his partner John Watson.

For fans of the BDSM genre I would say pass this up, but for Sherlock Holmes fans looking for a kinky twist I would say give this a try. There are various authors and I would say my favorite was the voyeurism themed story. I always like the idea of seeing something naughty when you think no one is watching. What better to see than the secret life of Sherlock Holmes.

This was a very hot, very short story with a little plot wrapped around a lot of sex.

Trixy goes over to the ranch owned by Garth Rutgers and his brother, Jens, to ask for help to get her cattle through the drought before she takes them to market. Garth has told her the price for his help is a night of hot sex. While she turned him down previously, she’s now back to accept his conditions. But the terms have changed-and Garth has more on his mind than one night of retribution for her turning him down for dates.

The book was fewer than 30 pages long and contained bondage, menage sex, and a couple of hot cowboys enjoying one feisty neighbor lady. I would have liked to have seen a more developed story and a real book .

When a woman with a flair for using the f bomb and a corset fixation meets a man of means who is determined to get under said corset, you have a story that will keep you reading long into the night.

Zara is a woman on a mission. Her charity for vintage clothing is important to her, much to the frustration of her wealthy father. When she meets Charles, the Earl of Woodhouse at her first charity function, he is captivated by her beauty and spirit. The vintage dress she is in could only be worn by wearing a corset. When the two meet, sparks begin to fly in more than one way.

Charles is a complicated man, and one that you could spend awhile delving into. When he first unlaces Zara, the two can’t get enough of each other. So much so that Zara has her first orgasm. The real world comes back into focus when Zara’s father forces them into a marriage neither is ready for. The spice and sex may be smoking, but there are other issues that need to be worked out between the two before any kind of balance is going to happen.

The kink factor is mildly hot and focuses on the shared corset fetish between Zara and Charlie. Zara loves how the corsets make her feel. Charlie has a dual edged thing happening. He uses the corset to objectify Zara in some ways and put distance between them. He will have to decide in the end if he can combine his fear of intimacy and his passion for a beautiful woman who loves him. The author does a superb job of bringing you into the essence of the moment each time Zara puts a corset on and each time Charlie unlaces her. Delicious. There are some other scenes with toys that were fun too.
