Afterglow is a quick read originally published in 2007, apparently just ahead of the current vampire craze. Stella is a thrice married single Mom, whose teen daughter is enamored of the vampire legend. Imagine Stella’s surprise when she discovers her new boss, Drake, is not only a vampire, but lives in hidden passages in her house and is dedicated to fighting “bad” vampires. He runs a club where girls can come feed the indigenous vamps with no one being harmed, and the young women gaining the benefit of perpetual youth.

Drake has barely informed Stella of his existence when his nemesis steals Stella’s daughter and holds her captive. Can Drake and Stella trust their new relationship enough to take down the bad guy and rescue her daughter?

The story had all the elements for a successful story-it was just too brief. If a vampire biting your neck and giving you perpetual youth is kink, then this is kinky, but there is zero BDSM.
