Review:

This book was hot and made me think. I absolutely loved how Cari switched the point of view at every chapter. Getting to see and feel what Klaus was thinking and feeling was fantastic. It’s hard to get into the mind of a Dom. I always wonder what they’re thinking when they work on a sub. This was fantastic and insightful look into the makings of a new Dom. And then there’s Jodie, a strong woman who thinks she knows what she wants, to make a documentary on what it would be like to be kidnapped and be a slave. She got the slave part right even if that wasn’t what she’d initially intended. I loved how she internalized and was able to think about things the more she wasn’t allowed to talk. I agree….sometimes it is really hard to know what to say and when to say it. To have that choice taken away from you and to just BE .is interesting. The story got me hot and I enjoyed reading it so much I hated to put it down. Wonderful ending and a beautiful new couple!

Review:

This was a fun romp into the world of BDSM and polyamorous relationships with a funny, caring hunk of a Dom, a bratty sub and a bratty switch keeping the reader entertained.

Q has lusted after Sabrina for years. But while Q is admittedly bi-sexual, Sabrina insists she is straight and refuses to give in to her attraction to Q, although they are friends and roommates.  The situation changes the night they go ghost hunting at a haunted mansion and run into Jude.

Jude is taking his last summer off before starting medical school and is refurbishing the old mansion. When the two girls come across his path, they begin a three way relationship that all are enjoying. Knowing Jude was leaving at the end of the summer, none of them planned to become emotionally involved. Can a straight sub, a bi-sexual switch, and a loving Dom have a lasting relationship?

I loved Jude. While he could be very creative with his playthings, he never did anything that wasn’t for their pleasure. He even enjoyed their brattiness-even when that led to his needing a safeword. Q invoked the reader’s sympathy, and Sabrina added a touch of lightness to the trio.

The book does contain bondage, whipping, flogging, F/F scenes, and F/F/M action.

A satisfying read by a talented group of writers.

This latest book of mine, “Take Me, Break Me”, is not a plain and simple BDSM story, it’s in a fuzzy zone.

I was talking to someone recently who was quite unhappy at how many so-called BDSM books are not BDSM. Though I agree with her in a way, I also pointed out a couple of things.

One is that people talking about books are starting to use BDSM as a vague term that means the book contains some of the elements of BDSM, but they may not even be happening in a consensual way. I’ve seen the administrator of one internet BDSM group call this BDSM fantasy. To me this is people morphing words to mean slightly different things. If it happens enough the word becomes that new meaning too. One word can have many meanings, which is maybe why people miscommunicate so much. But there’s nothing you can really do if the world population decides to use a word in a way that wasn’t intended at first. It’s happened throughout the centuries and dictionaries will never keep up. You can say until you’re blue in the face that ‘sock’ only means a thing on your foot, but when everyone uses it to mean hitting someone, it means that too.

The other thing about books being labeled as containing BDSM is that sometimes the story changes – which is what happens in “Take Me, Break Me”.  It begins as an arranged capture fantasy, morphs into what are possibly dubious consent scenes, but by the end it is true BDSM.

Review:

Once I got past the countries and characters names that I couldn’t pronounce and started getting into the meat of the book I could see what all of the hype was about. The background of the book, the political intrigue, was difficult to understand…probably because this wasn’t the first book in the series, so I read it, didn’t understand all of it, and continued on. Once I finally got to the part of the book where things started happening I couldn’t put it down. I loved how Sofia wanted and yet fought every step of the way until she realized how much she really did want. Dankyo too had a fight on his hands….to want and want but unsure if he wants for more than this one ‘mission.’ The two make a great pair! Love how they complimented each other. I love how she can be a total spitfire and he takes it. The whole story revolves around them and the intrigue at the palace and all of the strange mechanical things. Not completely about the sex with a good storyline that kept me reading until I finished the book. Cari Silverwood has another winner on her hands!

Lust Plague is more a book about prejudice than anything else.  Airship Captain Kaysana Onomi is nearly killed when zombies affected by the lust plague take over her ship.  She is rescued by Sten, a Frankenstruct-the last of his kind.  Although human, they were also created and came with a built in rage that resulted in uncontrollable killing sprees.  Sten has learned to keep his inner rage under control.  But most humans regard his kind with loathing, and Kaysana especially so because some of them killed her younger sister. Together they team up with Emily, a refuge from Kaysana’s airship, Sten’s wolf, and a canary and take on the Zombies in order to destroy the plague that causes them to become Zombies.  With the world being destroyed, can Kaysana and Sten find happiness?

Some of the problems I had with this book include the gruesome factor: Zombies dripping flesh is not appealing; and even more, the questions that are left unanswered.  We never find out how the Frankenstructs were created; how the lead Zombie managed to control some of them and why; and what made “raised men” faster, more powerful and deadlier than normal Zombies.

The sex was hot and included some definite aspects of BDSM (nipple and clit clamps, bondage, suspension, rough sex, anal sex, and more) but it was set in such a surreal setting that the normalcy of the sex jarred. Tough thing to say about BDSM, but very true here!

In spite of the flaws, the story line was fascinating; the heroine a terrific role model for strong women everywhere and Sten was a perfect lover-dominant, yet protective, tender and caring.

Sexy smartass fun with BDSM

The Dom with a Safeword is out tomorrow – Halloween. This is a contemporary Mff romance. Though there is a ghost element to this story it’s pretty firmly set in reality, in New Jersey. I co-wrote this one with 2 other authors. I wrote the Dom, Jude. Leia Shaw wrote the innocent submissive, Sabrina, who is new to both BDSM and girl on girl. And Sorcha Black wrote the bisexual switch Q, who hates her real name and rarely tells it.

Here’s what the book’s about:

Late at night, on an amateur ghost hunt, Sabrina and her best friend Q are caught trespassing by the gorgeous, blonde Jude. The embers of attraction between them sizzle when they discover Jude’s kinks match their own. Jude is a Dom on his last summer of freedom before starting the prison sentence that is med school. Q is a badass bi switch who knows what she wants, and for years it’s been her cute, doe-eyed straight friend Sabrina. But the only way for Q into Sabrina’s heart and panties may be with Jude’s fist wrapped in her hair.

Domming the bratty Q and mischievous Sabrina isn’t going to be easy but Jude relishes the challenge. At the end of the summer, will they find a way to stay together when everything is tearing them apart?

So as you can see, we have, not one, but two brats in this story. Here’s  Jude:

“So… what methods have failed to teach you manners?”

Based on a true story.

There are some things in life you have to try before you know how they will affect you.

After 5 years of awful sex, I was ready. Bondage and spanking had always featured in my fantasies, and one day, I convinced my husband to try them. That day was a turning point.

Ice cream comes in many flavors and that’s us too — not vanilla, maybe not Rocky Road either. We can be a combination or make up our own and no one has the right to judge us.  But there will always be one question that tears at my soul: Will my husband, Nick, ever be happy with what I crave?

Review:

31 Flavors of Kink is a great story about the variety of pleasure a person can find within the BDSM lifestyle and how each person or couple can pick and choose what works for them.  This is not a cookie cutter BDSM story and for that alone it is highly recommended.

Sidney and Nick have a fairly successful marriage.  Sidney’s biggest problem is that she doesn’t enjoy sex due to some thing in her past.  Nick tries his best, but can’t seem to breakthrough until Sidney begins to share some of her fantasies.  The things Sidney shares Nick has never even contemplated for them but he is intrigued. Sidney, like so many others, uses a book to introduce her husband to her fantasies.

One master, one woman who craves surrender, and a sky that will challenge them both.

At a time when airplanes are as new-fangled and sensational as the telephone, Faith dares to fly. The one territory she has not explored is her own sexuality. In Leonhardt she discovers the man who can teach her how a woman surrenders her body and her mind. However, Leonhardt has a shadowed past and his own learning to do. He doesn’t have the right to keep Faith from flying, even if he thinks airplanes are flimsy death-traps made of canvas, timber and their inventor’s prayers.

Faith has her limits, Leonhardt has his flaws, and sometimes the nicest people get murdered by unscrupulous bastards. Even if Leonhardt can save the woman he loves, the battle for Faith’s heart will be the hardest one of all.

WARNING: BDSM, anal sex, orgasms galore, and a Dom who likes to claim his property with pen, ink and bondage.

Review:

Rough Surrender, a historical romance, is set in the early 1910’s in Cairo.  Faith Evard is one of first female pilots in the world, strong in her beliefs, quick with her witty tongue and living for flying her Bleriot in the skies over Egypt.  Just having arrived from Paris, she is introduced to Leonhardt Meissner, an engineer working in Cairo. He is immediately enamored and enthralled by Faith.  Although Faith had long since decided that she would die a spinster and that no man would want a woman so bold and dominant as she, the titillating flirtations abound.  Leonhardt slowly, methodically, mouthwatering and with panty-drenching detail teaches Faith the ways of his unusual sexual appetites.  As she is only in Cairo for 10 days, and certainly not one for missing the opportunity for an adventure, Faith finds she enjoys submission.  While the sparks continue to fly between the couple, murder is afoot in Cairo, and little to Faith’s knowledge, she is much closer to the killer than she knows.
