Review:

Ready for some smoking hawt erotica?  Best Women’s Erotica 2013 is the book to read. This sampling of eighteen steaming short stories will cause some pussy wetting and cock dripping.  My two favorites in this collection are The Spanking Salon by Elizabeth Coldwell and Being his Bitch by Janine Ashbless.  In The Spanking Salon, the reader is treated to a deliciously fun story of mistaken identities which leads to spankings. What’s not to love about being spanked for being naughty?  In Being his Bitch, it’s a delightful puppy play piece including a hawt public breeding scene.

Ms. Blue is known for her sexual prowess. She’s also a safe bet when it comes to providing erotic literature to read and enjoy a bit of “me time”. This selection of erotica writers provide all sorts of fetishes and kinks for a novice erotic reader to taste and explore. Each of the stories are smoothly written with medium to high heat factor. There is nothing tame in this book. Just as there is nothing too taboo either. It’s a buffet filled with different combination of sexual partners and desires. There is something written for everyone. For those who are hedonist, pretty much every single story will appeal.

What is truly impressive about this collection is the writing for each piece. Each story contains a beginning, middle and conclusion. They are tightly woven with defined characters, a simple plot and great sex. It’s lean yet decadently rich in flavor. This erotic collection is recommended to kinky readers looking for a good hawt time.

Review:

This is a must read bondage collection. Each short story in this book is a winner. They can all be hot standalones but when bound together, it’s a five star sizzling book. There are so many different varieties of how people are restrained; it’s fabulous. There are even a couple of non-consensual ones which kicked this erotic book up a notch. This book will gave a taste of several different authors’ writing style. It’s all titillating. Every single one of them helped make this the best collection for this year. It will be hard to top this bondage book.

There are some popular and well known authors as well as a few lesser known ones. It’s really difficult to pick a favorite tale in this book because they are all unique and well written. Each is tightly woven with concise storylines, hot arousing scenes and concluding with a beautiful afterglow. The one to pick for the most surprising and new to me author would be Logan Zachary and his Passion Party Purgatory. This deviant m/m non-con story explores what happens to the husbands who accompany their wives to a Passion Party. It makes one wonder what happens to the wives during the sales pitch.

What is really appealing about this book is the creative ways people are bound. The ones where there is a treat of exposure outside are exhilarating. The reader can feel both the excitement and the anxiety of being caught. One of the bondage stories includes walking through a hotel where others could see their sexy restraints before the Domme and her female submissive retires to a lush hotel room. Each one of these stories will appeal to many reader’s fantasies.

Review:

How do you like your coffee? With a little flogging on the side? Maybe a night of knitting with some really interesting stitches? This anthology edited by Alison Tyler is guaranteed to make every hour of your day memorable.

Whenever I get to read an anthology by Alison Tyler, I know it is going to be hot, well put together and have a searing set of stories that are going to get my blood pumping. Morning, Noon and Night is just such an anthology. Starting with a very nice wakeup call at 4am, each of these 24 stories is a scorcher.Early morning walks of shame, naughty morning habits that make moving day a little more fun, sexy office moments, phone texts that will make you wild, a picnic with friends that has some naughty consequences and more…this anthology will give you heat stroke with the high kink factor.

There are a couple of stories that I have to highlight because they really struck a chord. 5:00 a.m. Walk of Shame by Dante Davidson had me drooling on the pages. Excellent kink . 11:00 a.m. Elevenses by Jeremy Edwards was a moving day that might even make me rethink the horrors of moving if I had that kind of fun in the back of a moving van. Hot! Seven p.m. Kinky Craft Night by Teresa Noelle Roberts was boiling hot sex with some scary yarn bondage that was unforgettable. This girl will never look at her knitting needles quite the same way again. Absolutely wonderful! 3:00 a.m. Last Call by Alison Tyler is a gang bang that is wilder than any ménage I have ever read and I loved every second of it. Kinky to the core, there is a reason she has earned the title Trollop With a Laptop. Alison rocks it. Every time. I could write up every story in this anthology, that’s how much I liked it.

Review:

This book owes its inspiration to the Story of O, and is even less of a romance than the original.  Carrie and her boyfriend, Jonathan have lived in a part-time D/s relationship for some time when he tells her he wants to sell her at auction. She undergoes training to be a better submissive, including a stint at a farm where women are trained like horses, and then goes to the auction where she will be sold to the highest bidder to spend a year as a slave. The book ends just after the sale.

Quite honestly, I hated this book.  The only reason we really get for Carrie’s willingness to undergo the pain and humiliation heaped upon her is that her alternative is to return to grad school. The connection between her and Jonathan is non-existent and her training is degrading and horrifying. This is about a “legal” form of white slavery, and the only apparent award for the participants is gratification of their masochism-and not in a sexual way.

To me, this book represented the worst aspects of BDSM-degradation and objectification of women, pain without purpose, and training and regimentation that totally ignores a submissive as a human being. Most people treat their animal pets better.

Ever want to read some hot sexy stories without angst?  Lips Like Sugar is a delightful collection of smexy hot stories designed to make a female reader’s panties wet. Now, this is not to say a male reader won’t enjoy it. Both sexes reading this hot book will want more. Ms. Blue is a well known blogger and sex educator. It is no surprise a book edited by her is filled with some of the hottest fantasies.

In most short stories collections, the stories leave a reader confused and wondering what just happened. It’s as if only a couple of chapters have been provided. Ms. Blue’s collection is filled with story after story with a beginning, middle and end. And each one leaves the reader wanting more. The different permutations of sexual positions as well as sexual partners in the stories will appeal to many different readers. For the hedonist, the variety will delightfully satiate a voracious appetite.

Each story is tightly written. While the focus of the story is a sexual fantasy, the characters are not left wooden or plain. The characters in many of the stories are titillating. A few of them, such as the main female character in The 9:30 to Edinburgh are annoying. Even in this short story where Alison is a stuck up little bitch, the sex between her and two strangers is HOT!

Review:

This book is about military erotic romances by eighteen authors and a forward by Cat Johnson.  The stories range from World War II, contemporary, futuristic, heterosexual and LGBT scenarios. While I enjoyed reading them, I wanted a few to be longer as I wanted more about both the storyline and the characters.

Some of the stories were very steamy but some were also the very sweet romantic ones. A few were definitely BDSM.  I was really surprised by the variety of stories in the book. I will say that there were quite a few that knew about the military and some of the rules and regulations. I appreciate when an author does as I served in the Marine Corps and this happens to be one of my pet peeves when an author does not get it right so I tend to get very critical when that happens.  One story bordered on this as it revolved around two enemy soldiers. I’m not sure this would have been feasible during that time period, but the story itself was interesting.

Some of my favorite vignettes in this book included “Night Witch”, “Wilco” and “Snake Dance”. These were also among those I wanted more information. All in all, each author did a good job with a sometimes difficult subject.

If you are looking for some quick hot reads this spanking anthology may be just what you are looking for. With over twenty stories from just as many authors one would be hard pressed not to find at least one engaging story.

I enjoyed seeing so many different variations to spanking stories, not just bend over and take it. From new adventures to old practices these characters all enjoyed themselves. The trust is evident in all that they do. From those who want to be punished to those who want to try new things this anthology has it all. Each story is fast paced and pulls the reader into its world. The characters and their worlds are brought vividly to life  and some stories are so short that they leave you wanting to return for more. These stories are fun and engaging reads meant to entertain the reader. It was nice to be able to try out so many new authors finding new favorites along side the old ones.

When you first started writing, did you have any idea you’d be writing erotic books? Do you write in any other genre?

Not really! Though to be honest, I consider myself more so a multi-genre fiction writer rather than a writer of erotic books, especially since most of my books cross into other genres as opposed to being straight-up erotica. I prefer to do projects with a much broader appeal. For me, it’s more interesting and inspiring and I think my readers prefer it as well. The fact that I don’t struggle with writing erotic content might stem from having read some of the Victorian erotic classics when I was younger. I always preferred the more literary styles of prose, which no doubt had an influence in my own approach.

Do you use a pen name? If yes (or no), why?

Not for a long time, no. I realize there are certain instances when a writer might see the need to take on a pen name (such as to establish a “brand” in one or more genres), but it’s a practice I tend to discourage when asked by new writers or when I teach my erotic writing workshops. My view is this: write something that has quality, value and literary merit. The fact that the material has a lot of sexual content is irrelevant. You can find a slew of books on the mainstream bestseller lists that have just as much sex in them, if not more, so that shouldn’t be the deciding reason to take on a pen name.

What was your inspiration for Thrones of Desire?

Review:

Traveling for work every week, staying at hotels becomes boring after a while.  Somehow, when the hotel is for a vacation or with a stranger, it changes.  Why is hotel sex hotter than having sex at home?  In Suite Encounters, the reader is treated to twenty short steamy stories.  Some are kinky; some are sweet.  The editing is done by Ms. Kramer Bussel.  She also holds the pimp spot with her story, Special Request.

Since this is a Ms. Kramer Bussel edited book, the expectation is high for the story quality.  She meets expectations with each story tightly written and well edited.  Many of the stories were four paddles quality.  It averages out to three paddles because a few of them were just bizarre.  One in particular felt completely non sequitur.  There was no beginning or meaning to one of the stories.  All the reader knows is a man and a woman are in a room together and we don’t know why, other than the man needs to masturbate and she regrets asking him since she knows him.  The reader doesn’t know the why and the result of the encounter leaves the reader confused and dissatisfied.  What is the purpose of that story?

A few which are notable are Selfish by Donna George Storey, Business Expenses by Elizabeth Silver and Special Request by Rachel Kramer Bussel.  Each of these stories contains something in common.  They let the kinky flag fly.  The kinky role playing in Selfish is engaging and easily realistic.  This could be any woman trying to spice up her life and take a little pleasure for herself.  It’s sexy, sensual and believable.  The characters are engaging and the story flows smoothly.

Blurb:

Only the truest romantics are willing to explore their deepest desires. Imagine finding a partner who is just as ravenous and uninhibited as you are. Bound by Lust, curated by libidinous leximaven Shanna Germain, is a heady combination of sweet and sexy, dirty and romantic. In Alana Noël Voth’s “Marcelle,” a man finds more than his heart’s desire in the acceptance of the woman he loves, while the characters in Sommer Marsden’s “Reclaiming Spring” discover that dominance and submission help them reclaim their marriage. For the artist in Kristina Wright’s “Brushstrokes,” the safety of love gives voice to her deepest desires. The BDSM bound within these pages is naughty and nice—bondage, spanking, domination, pain and pleasure. Bring on the love and leather, along with the dungeons and dens.

Review:

This is a volume of short stories all with a BDSM theme. The stories are mostly with two characters and BDSM is the basic building block of their relationship.

The stories have basically an even number of male and female dominants and submissives, although switching the roles can be found. The story Eine Klein Spanking is written from the perspective of a female submissive desperate for her relationship to develop, only to discover life taking an interesting twist. This was one of the more enjoyable and certainly surprising stories included here.

Public play was the essential ingredient of a few of the stories in book. Public play is common in BDSM literature and an exciting aspect of a D/srelationship as it both pushes and tests the relationship, but within real life carries tremendous risks, especially the submissive.
