Review:

D.L. King’s newly released anthology of femdom stories, Her Wish is Your Command, is a treat for aficionados of that genre. All 21 stories are fun, imaginative, and sexy in a decidedly naughty way – yet not so hard core as to scare off adventuresome newbies and BDSM-curious readers.

Most of these stories don’t involve mistresses and submissives heavy into the lifestyle. Indeed, a common thread features a vanilla male encountering a dominant woman who orchestrates events such that their latent submissive nature is revealed and they are encouraged to embrace what they have discovered about themselves.

None of the dommes are of the ominous spider woman variety. They are for the most part portrayed simply as self-possessed women with a penchant for being in charge, sexually and otherwise. In many of the stories there is a playful quality to the women as they interact with their submissive prey.

Perhaps my favorite vignette is A Different Kind of Reality Show. A young exhibitionist lands a gig in which he is to be naked on live camera for a week and subject to following the voice commands of an exclusive audience of women. He did not anticipate that he would be required to masturbate at their whim – and stop unfulfilled at their direction; nor was inserting a large butt plug in his ass (and liking it) something that he imagined happening when he signed the contract.

This anthology is highly recommended to anyone with an affinity for well-written femdom literature, and for readers exploring the genre who are looking for a representation of the best it has to offer.

Writing’s a pretty solitary endeavor.  I have a home office, of sorts, where I spend most of my time—alone, writing or editing.  I really love my office space, though.  I’ve claimed about a fourth of the living room.  Backed by bookshelves and surrounded with an L-shaped desk, I’ve carved out a little niche for myself.  It’s open to the room, yet truly an office space. UnderHerThumb

I’m perfectly happy to work there, alone.  In fact, I prefer working alone.  People are always talking about writing retreats and conferences, writer’s groups and book groups and, though I’ve been to a few conferences and really loved them, I have to admit, I value my privacy and the idea that I can do what I want, when I want and how I want.  So, when a writer-friend of mine told me she wanted to set up a writer’s retreat at her lake cottage and she wanted me to come, I wasn’t so sure I wanted to.

I knew I wanted to go to her lake cottage.  I’d been there before and loved it and I love spending time with her and her partner, but actually write and discuss the craft of writing with other writers?  I didn’t know.  I also didn’t know whether I’d be able to write with others around as that’s not how I work.  But I said okay.

And that’s how I found myself in the wilds of Ontario with the likes of Laura Antoniou (she’s in Under Her Thumb), Evan Mora (she’s in Under Her Thumb and several other of my books), Andrea Zanin (she’s in Under Her Thumb), Nairne Holtz and Jessica Harris.  Nairne also has been known to write smut.  Jessica doesn’t really write smut, but I wouldn’t hold that against her, as she’s a marvelous writer.

We spent our days writing.  There are several pictures floating around of a bunch of people sitting at a table, engrossed in their laptops, silently clicking away.  And in the evenings, we talked, read our work to each other, played Cards Against Humanity (which is a great game, if you don’t already know about it), ate fantastic food and drank copious amounts of wine and spirits ‘cause yeah, that’s what writers do… I know, it seems improbable, but that’s what we did and it worked really well.  I advanced the novel (the third Melinoe book: A Slave of Melinoe) by quite a few thousand words.

I’ll tell you what, there’s something very freeing in discussing BDSM matter-of-factly with a group of like-minded people who share similar experiences.  It’s pretty cool when someone asks what you’re writing about and you find it perfectly reasonable to say, “I’m writing an enema scene,” and then they say, “That’s cool.”  Here’s a little bit of that scene, as it stands now:

“What is this place?” Adam asked.

The slave clipped Adam’s wrist cuffs to hooks at the top of the table, just above his head.  He pulled rails out from the end of the table, near Adam’s bottom and angled them out slightly to the sides.  They had stirrups on the ends.  Taking Adam’s right foot, he lifted the leg and placed the foot in the stirrup and fastened the cuff down.  He did the same with Adam’s other leg.  The rails were short, making Adam’s knees bend and his legs fall open.  He brought his knees as close together as possible, given how he was fastened but he realized that no matter what he did with his knees, his anus would remain completely exposed to whatever ministrations the mistress, or her slave, wished to perform.

He heard a printer spit out a sheet of paper and the slave went to fetch it.  While he was reading the printout, Adam asked him again, what this section of the training area was for.  The slave pulled jars of powers down from a cabinet, ignoring Adam.  He filled a stainless steel bucket with water from the sink and began measuring the powders and adding them to the water in the bucket.  After stirring the solution he’d made, he set the bucket on the counter and said, “Enemas.”  It was then the mistress entered the cubicle.  She took the printout from the slave and perused it before coming over to Adam’s side.

But enough of that, for now.  Because this retreat had such a plethora of Under Her Thumb authors, I’m going to suggest that you might want to check out the book, if you haven’t already done so.  It’s my latest.  It’s fem dom and it’s full of amazing stories by amazing writers, including me!

Review:

Anyone who thinks that female domination in literature is a modern day phenomenon should investigate the mythological succubae, references to which date at least to Adam’s first wife, Lilith. Variations of these supernatural entities have been central characters in innumerable stories, books, plays, films and television programs. Accomplished erotica editor D.L. King recently tapped a pool of very talented writers to create a collection of 21 decidedly naughty succubus stories that will change the way you think about mythology – Seductress: Erotic Tales of Immortal Desire.

A couple of the stories stick fairly close to conventional interpretations of how a demon seduces a mortal male, but many stray far, far away from the tried and true route and even venture into Sapphic dalliances. Their variety, imaginative plots, and overall erotic content should satisfy the palate of erotica readers with a taste for kink. My personal favorite is “Phone Hex,” a story in which Ruby helps her fellow succubae go high tech by creating an app called Xtasee, which puts users into a light trance while it runs a preprogrammed phone hex to summon a succubus using a virtual version of the Karenzikov ritual. This story combines sly humor with very raunchy sexual hookups.

As a general rule all erotica has two mistresses that compete for its readers’ enjoyment, story and sting. On a five star scale, Seductress: Erotic Tales of Immortal Desire merits five stars for story and four stars for sting. It is definitely a keeper.

Review:

This sexy femdom anthology is a must read. Pick this book up and read it now. It is not often that a cover is as smoking hot as the contents in the book. The red headed woman with piercing green eyes gives a reader a great Domme to keep in their mind as they read these twenty-one smexy femdom flavours. Ms. King gathers some of the best erotic writers to provide hot sensual tidbits.  Each story is explicitly graphic and so good. Each author brings their version of a woman on top.  With so many choices, there will be at least one which will tempt the reader’s hunger.

Many people believe femdom is all about a cruel woman humiliating and degrading a pussy whipped man. Fortunately, each story dispels this stereotype by showing tasty combinations.  Sometimes the man is a strong executive submitting to a woman. Sometimes it is an older man yielding to a younger woman. Other times it is a young man under the thumb of an older woman.  Readers are even treated to several mouthwatering ménage. Some of these tantalizing threesomes are with F/f/m and others are with F/m/m. My favorite ones are the following four.

Good for the Goose by Kathleen Bradean is a steamy hawt with wife taking control of her husband. Ms. Bradean’s perverted precision cuts a clear picture of how the man suffers at his wife’s devilish plans. Ms. Bradean’s Domme carries on a diabolical dialog with the reader. It brings the reader closer to the wife and sharing her enjoyment. The ending leaves a vivid image of a wild eyed husband straining at his bonds while his wife cackles. Ms. Braden drops the curtains on the scene just before the nasty conclusion. She is quite the cock-teaser.

In Layover by Lisabet Sarai, the Domme is sadistic to the over cocky arrogant stud. This female pilot takes her male flight attendant to heights he never expected. Each encounter pulls him under her spell. Ms. Sarai builds the heat and when the final scene is exposed, it is sweltering hawt. A twist in the ménage combination is so good to read and the male’s dubious consent only cranks up the heat. Ms. Sarai also leaves the reader with a teasing future hook-up. She’s definitely an author to follow.

Below the Stairs by T.R Verten is a F/f/m ménage perfect for the bisexual female submissive.  Or a greedy play slut female switch would enjoy this one to a T. A husband and wife duo invite a female into their play. The wife directs this sensual scene with the husband witnessing while quivering in need. What bisexual switch doesn’t fantasize about this very plausible scenario?

In the Chill of her Displeasure by Veronica Wilde is the perfect final story ending in a spanking bang. This story is definitely realistic with a monthly service party hosted by a Domme in the group. During this time, male submissives provide food and drinks. Why isn’t there also service in foot massages and pedicures? This concept is very sexy and I can easily see people in the lifestyle throwing these parties. The tale takes a downward turn when the males step out of line.  This is when it gets good as two of the males are disciplined. One can only hope to be invited to the next party.

This arousing anthology is provocative and great inspiration for kinky sex. This book is highly recommended to femdom lovers who want to be seduced with great writing and racy relations.
