Review:

The buildup of the friendship between Annalee and her best friend Willow is long and drawn out, and in my opinion, unnecessary. The fact that Willow has been sleeping with Jared (Annalee’s fiancé) could have been worked into the story after chapter two as an aside, especially since we only see them again in passing.

The story truly gets going at chapter two, when Annalee is at the company Christmas party, in a costume she wouldn’t normally wear and starts garnering the attention of the male staff especially a lost opportunity lover named Brent Delaney. In her inebriated state, Annalee takes Brent back to his hotel where he begins to assert his dominance over her, waking her hidden submissiveness.

After a lesson in orgasm control and being bound to a bed for the first time, Annalee isn’t willing to separate from her new lover and invites him and his twin to stay their next few days in her home instead of a hotel. She learns that Brent is on an assignment to catch an escaped con that he helped to put away. Lots of sex and little else happens until Brent heads off in search of the escaped con. Annalee feebly tried to talk him out of going, and is now worried he’s going to be killed.

Annalee becomes the target of the escapee, Brent races to save her, winds up in the hospital, she meets his parents, winds up kidnapped. Brent and his brother save her in the nick of time, right before the big bad is about to rape her after torturing her.

Review:

This short story spanned the realm from vicious sado-masochism to sweet.

Gina is a slave for rent for an exclusive BDSM Club. She both loves and hates submitting to a different master each time. While her external appearance is that of a perfect submissive, her internal view is a sarcastic bitch, mentally calling the Dom names. Until she scenes with Mike, a sadistic Dom who sees through her act and breaks through to the true submissive. But she also breaks down the walls he has built since the breakup of his wife. Can these two actually find happiness together?

The story contains anal sex, M/M action, bondage, flogging, electric play and hard core BDSM action. Some of the scenes were so intense as to be uncomfortable for the reader, but were obviously what the participants needed.

Review:

Jo wants Ted, but he wants nothing to do with her because he knows she is different and could crack his veneer. Joe goes out of her way to make sure she gets what she wants.

I really enjoyed this story even though there were some uncomfortable moments for me. There were times when I wanted to slap both Jo and Ted. Ted seemed to be insensitive in a few areas, and Jo, because she wasn’t willing to reveal her own issues that ultimately had a very big affect on both of them. I felt the author did a great job with how she handled the whole story. Be aware the issue of date-rape is addressed so be careful if this will trigger issues in the reader.

Be prepared for some very hot scenes between the two. The author did a great job of describing the scenes as well as some of the toys and the bed in Ted’s playroom. The bed is something I would love to recreate if I had room for it.

I did have to laugh at some of Jo’s behavior as it went a little beyond bratty. I did think Ted had some very creative techniques to deal with them. There were also times when I wanted to cry, but this is one book I got upset when interrupted while reading, as I did not want to put it down.

Review:

A sweet short story of a loving couple stuck in the routine of vanilla, both wanting more yet neither willing to actually ask for it. The trigger – Owen finds an erotic scene his wife has written, a fantasy of how she’d like for him to take control. Reading about Gail’s desire for something more Owen realizes their sex life is about to take a turn for the better.

Owen turns the tables and forces Gail to accept she needs more, more kink in their physical relationship. Pandora’s Box has opened and Owen finds his inner Dom as their play forces Gail to accept and give him her submission. It’s a lovely scene between a couple who truly loves and respects each other, as they explore their new found desires.

A rare orchard grows on Submission Island, but the four Doms that own it won’t give permission for it to be studied. Natalie is a botanist and goes undercover as a submissive so she can try to locate it and possibly study it in between sessions. What she doesn’t count on is Carter.

While an island where people can go to experience BDSM/submission is not a new concept, I enjoyed this particular story which is the first one in a series about the Doms. The description of all the Doms were interesting as they were all former military and the island is their refuge.

I had to laugh at some of the antics Natalie pulled to try to find the orchard. Carter actually went easy on her in my opinion; however, he did realize she was not very experienced. Once Carter realized that, he did try to teach her some of the basics. The chemistry between the two was intense.

The author did a good job balancing their relationship once it went past the customer relationship. I really enjoyed reading this one and am looking forward to reading about the rest of the men in the future. I have never been disappointed reading a book about BDSM from this author and this book is no exception. I will be reading this one again.

Maggie ends up with an official and an unofficial Secret Santa at the office. Sean has always found Maggie attractive, but knows it will be difficult to find a woman that can handle his awkwardness and his kink. After seeing a magazine in her purse, Sean thinks Maggie might be the one.

I loved Secret Santa Sir. The author did a wonderful job with the Secret Santa theme including the very creative play on the Twelve Days of Christmas theme BDSM style. Not only was it creative, it also provided the scenes that Sean came up with for Maggie to experience. There was a major safety issue though when you live this lifestyle and that was that Maggie went to a private hotel room not knowing who she was meeting.

The chemistry between the two is scorching hot. I liked the fact that the two were willing to learn about each other as individuals and not just within the BDSM context. They were willing to experiment, and Sean was very good about making sure Maggie understood she was to use her safe words as necessary.

Some of the secondary characters were interesting, and I did have to laugh at some of the creative solutions that some of the couples came up with using exercise equipment. When you don’t have a lot of room for both a dungeon and a gym, this could be the way to go.

Review:

Mimi is upset because Rick is ignoring her calls since he left after their last night together. Mimi can’t believe it, since she thought they had a very good emotional connection.

The author portrayed Mimi’s emotions so realistically; you almost thought she was standing right in front of you talking to you. I wanted to slap Rick even though he thought he was justified doing it, but he did realize his mistake almost too late. If he hadn’t been for their friend, I could have seen a definite end to their relationship.

The author gives a very detailed description of a unique bridal outfit Mimi is modeling. It will take the reader’s breath away, not only the total outfit, but the on stage scene is extremely hot. This is one to read again and again.

There he meets Thomas. Both feel the connection immediately. At 29 pages this story this is a quick and erotic read. Ryan was a strong character that felt the connection to Thomas the moment he meet him. He is very clear about what he wants in his life. Thomas seems to fight his desire for Ryan beyond the one night. I can’t wait to read the next book!

A short story taking the reader back into the lives of Dalton, Cade and Erin, this reader is expecting some hot D/s ménage. The characters are from the first book, Ragged Edge. Instead, this book starts out with the happy triad no longer in a good balance. Present day, their relationship is on the rocks. Erin is hiding something big from her lovers Dalton and Cade. When the truth is revealed, it’s heartbreaking.

The scene to reconnect Erin back to her Master, Dalton, and her cute Cop, Cade, is not to be missed. Ms. Brookes does a great job of describing and showing how three lovers can come together. It’s a steamy read and may cause a reader’s panties more than dampen. Perhaps a little “me time” will be required after reading this scene. This short story while depressing at time, is still a hot sexy reading as Dalton dominates Erin and brings her back into the fold. Because when it comes down to it, without open communication and trust, the threesome cannot function properly. Ms. Brookes does a great job illustrating how a failure to communication can happen and cause pain when it is not necessary. This enjoyable glimpse into the lives of these three characters is delightful. This short story is recommended for kinky readers who enjoy D/s with their ménage.
