Mission Pleasure, Book Two

Nora, a CIA ballistics expert, has recently begun visiting a BDSM club, but with limited experience, she’s afraid to indulge her submissive side—until she sees coworker Alexander St. Clare performing a public display of punishment. Equal parts shocked and inflamed, she flees when Alex notices her, praying it won’t mean an end to her career.

Sexual Dominant and spy, Alex is surprised to see the pretty agent from his office at Decadence. Even more surprised by Nora’s obvious arousal as she watches him perform. Her reaction ignites something deep inside him, but the dangers of the job mean he can never act on it.

When an assignment allows them a taste of the forbidden, the intensity between them is off the charts. Amidst the backdrop of a dangerous mission, Alex and Nora discover each might just have what the other has always craved.

Inside Scoop: Nora enjoys group sex with three Dominant marines and a female sub, spanking, bondage and knife play.

Review:

Can you imagine having a job that you are always worried about the real reason they are with you? Nora a CIA ballistics agent always has that on her mind and she tries to be careful and ever vigilant with whoever she gets involved with. One night at a club she spots a Dom named Alex that intrigues her until she finds out that they work at the same place. Nora hopes that she wasn’t recognized by the sexy Dom, but all hopes of that are dashed when she is called in the office and told of her next assignment.

All kinds of vibes are running off the charts here with lust being one of them. Nora and Alex are given the mission is to take down a bad guy while playing the husband/Dom and Wife/sub. Of course one thinks they can do it… the other one doesn’t.

I loved this book. The Dom acted the ass a bit, but not because of some deep seated tragic event in his life. The Dom was a Dom because he enjoyed being a Dom not because of a shadowed hurtful past. It was a decent length and I loved both main characters. I’d be interested in seeing what happens with character Sebastian’s future. A bit of intrigue and some super hot scenes makes this book easily one of my favorites.

Emily is nervous around electricity, but Greg’s extravagant Valentine’s Day gift of a violet wand piques her curiosity. With her beloved Master guiding the way, Emily feels secure enough to explore her limits—and enjoys what she discovers.

Greg’s sensual dominance opens her up to newfound pleasures and together, Master and submissive delve into an electrifying new kink. As Emily begins to overcome her anxiety, her lover’s expertise with the violet wand brings a whole new meaning to “making sparks fly”.

Review:

I really enjoyed this book because I find myself intrigued by the violet wand. The Dom in this book was mellow and calm, showing a great deal of patience. I think Ms. Vicks called it Sensual Domination, and that fits perfectly.

The character Emily is amazing. You can tell how much love she has for her Master and what it does to her when she feels she has disappointed him.

Doms will push your limits, make you uncomfortable and take you out of your comfort zone. This is what Greg did with Emily. In the process of pushing her limits, he still gave her a way out. Greg explained all aspects of the wand to Emily not only so that she would know what was happening but to show her he knew what he was doing as well. Confidence and communication are two important factors that can make or break a relationship. I really liked Greg’s self assurance.

I loved this book and highly recommend it. Get it, read it, and enjoy it.

At the end of this book, I’d say I found myself happy and left with a smile. It will be listed as one of my favorites.

Michelle is a young woman that’s had some heartache in her life as she tries to juggle jobs and school. Despite her difficulties she isn’t into self-pity and her character is very likable.

How does a kink club owner set out to get a soul mate? It’s an intriguing concept, being not just a Dom but a club owner; imagine all the offers you would get. And how do you as a club owner and a Dom, explain the difference between work and play to the woman you love to avoid jealousy?

Sean most definitely has his work cut out for him with Michelle. Her only BDSM experience is from books she has read. Sean is determined to show her she is the one and only, not one of many.

I really like how he talked and acted towards Michelle. He put thought into what he would say and while he was a Dom, he wasn’t overpowering but instead had a quiet confidence. The way Sean wanted open communication (which is very important), the thank you’s he said was a great touch.

This was a book I recommend to readers.

Hotlanta is the place to be! As someone who has friends in the Atlanta area, this story appeals to me immediately. Sutton is a dancer recovering from a physical injury. This is probably the worst nightmare a dancer can experience. To ensure she doesn’t try to get back into dancing too soon, she forces herself to go to Atlanta for rest and relaxation. She’s also interested in looking into the BDSM scene. First night at a BDSM club, she runs into Adam and sparks fly.

From a BDSM perspective, this story is solid. It’s erotic. It’s spot on with BDSM politics as well as the BDSM scenes. The interaction between Sutton and Adam are great to watch, even when they are not getting along. The demos Adam uses Sutton for at the club are panty wetting goodness. It’s a bit too much exhibition for my taste, but definitely awesome for my voyeuristic tendencies. I also appreciate Ms. Brookes involving Dungeon Monitors. Not many people outside of the lifestyle understand the importance of Dungeon Monitors or that they exist in most clubs and BDSM conventions.

Since this is part of a series, it is good to see previous character I really liked showing up in this book. There are also a couple of new characters which caught my attention and I hope they will be featured in their own story.

The story moves at a good pace and there is good character development. Both Adam and Sutton have more to their lives than their kinky side. What brings this story down for me are two threads which seem to be left hanging. Both involve family and past history for Adam and Sutton.  Adam’s situation with his sister and his mother came across as something of importance. Yet it never went anywhere. The same with Sutton’s situation with her brother. It’s not clear why she loves her family so much yet she does not want to return home. If this point is just mentioned once, it would be okay. With it brought up several times, it feels as if there is a key element here which needs to be resolved, yet it fizzles out into the background. This conflicting information did not make sense to me. Perhaps both of these tangents will be resolved in another book in this series.

This story is enjoyable and recommended for BDSM lovers who enjoy a sadistic exhibitionist.

Review:

Spanking My Boss is the story of Jen Teasdale and Dan McMullen. Jen owns an advertising agency and runs it with an iron fist. All of her employees fear her except Dan. Unbeknownst to the rest of the office, Dan is her husband and Master. For, while during the day, she is rigid and unforgiving, after dark, she kneels in submission at the feet of her Dom. This short story is a glimpse into the life of these two people as they balance the demands of work against the demands of their secret relationship.

Spanking My Boss is well written and enticing. The author’s writing style flows well. In addition, the author uses enough description to flesh out the scene without bogging it down with unnecessary or tedious detail. The story, while not necessarily original, was crafted well. The characters were developed enough (for a short story) to be believable.

The Sting Factor was very high. The story contained scenes of D/s (M/f), corporal punishment, high protocol, bondage and humiliation. The dialogue was graphic and very erotic. The character’s reactions were intense and riveting.

Overall, a great short story. A definite must read for anyone looking for a quick infusion of kink in their day.

Review:

Divine Solace by Joey W. Hill is the story of three people learning to find their way together and healing each other. Gen is a young woman who learned long ago that she could only count on herself and no one else. Noah’s hurt runs much deeper and always prepares to be left by those he cares about so he serves in an extreme not caring about his own health and safety. Then there is Lyda, the Domme, who is intrigued by Gen and entrusted with Noah’s care but yet she herself has issues expressing herself to those she cares about. Noah and Lyda are Gen’s guides into the wonderful world of BDSM but what the three did not count on was falling in love with each other. Their story is filled with ups and downs, scary moments, and even forgetful moments when it comes to the rules of the lifestyle.

This story is simply beautiful. Nnot only does it cover the very basics of the BDSM lifestyle it also expresses the true desires of the Domme/Dominant to help His or Her cherished submissive(s) to develop a strong connection not only with Him or Her but also themselves. However, the author takes it a step further and shows how not only a Domme/Dominant can help heal His or Her submissive (s) but how His or Her submissive (s) can help to heal the all empowering Domme/Dominant. In this particular book Joey W. Hill hits out of the park without a doubt and nails the BDSM scenes with grace, style, and true feelings that are invoked throughout the book. Divine Solace is an excellent read and highly recommended. If a higher set of spankings could be awarded this book would definitely receive it. So it is with great pleasure this book is awarded a five out of five spankalicious paddles.

Beyond Addiction by Desiree Holt beyond

Review:

Beyond addiction is aptly named. Fallon is just recovering from her time in captivity with her last dominant, Brian. Brian is an abusive man who should never be titled dominant. He isn’t in the lifestyle. He bases his BDSM on extreme BDSM porn and fantasies which end up with ER visits if not the funeral home.

This is a provocative book. Ms. Holt displays the bad and ugly of BDSM when it is in the hands of a poser. She counters this despicable view with a healthy dominant, Cord. This contrast is what helps Fallon get over Brian.

For some readers, they will think poorly of Fallon. She is so messed up in the head that she goes back to her abuser when she is finally in a good state. It makes absolutely no sense. The desire to smack some sense into her is high. In addition, the feeling that she deserves all the shit that happens to her because she goes back for more may also be prevalent. What Ms. Holt cleverly does, is show us how Fallon thinks. She knows this is bad. She feels sick to her stomach and believes she deserves the cruel punishment. Her body craves the pain Brian doles out. But does she really crave it or is it a result of mind washing and drugs? This is when the story becomes interesting.

The helplessness Fallon’s friends and her love feels is acute. Ms. Holt does a great job showing how they want to step in and fix everything for Fallon. It’s been done before and didn’t stick. This is where Ms. Holt’s research into addiction shows through. For an addict, rehab only works if the addict wants to make the change. Without the addict’s choice to make the change, there will always be the allure and question in the addict’s mind. While this is a different kind of addiction, it’s ramifications are not too dissimilar from a drug or alcohol addiction.

For the first half of this story, I loathed Fallon. I couldn’t understand her desire. I felt she was weak. I nearly wished Brian would kill her in a fit of rage so that Cord could move on. Then I remembered a time in my youth when I adored a guy. He was my everything. We never dated, but we were the closest of friends. This was back before friends with benefits term was coined. We never shared sex together, but we did indulge in kinky intimacy. He was my addiction. He brought out the worse in me and at times my behaviour was erratic to the point of crazy obsession. It didn’t end well. Even twenty years later, I still hunger for the feeling I experienced with him. If I met him again, I would be hard pressed to resist the temptation to submit to his orders. This is when I connected with Fallon and felt badly for her. While I did get away, for Fallon, Brian didn’t want to let her go. This is worse than an addiction, when the object of your addiction is actively pursuing and trapping you.

The writing is well done. Ms. Holt does an excellent job of showing how people can pervert something beautiful. She does a great job of giving the reader a perspective from the addict as well as loved ones who want to perform an intervention. The story flowed in a smooth manner and ended with a tidy quick resolution. Perhaps it is my vindictiveness which yearned for a more robust ending. I’d like to find out what happened to Brian.

This is kinky novel recommended for those who want to see how BDSM can go so wrong.

This was an entertaining little story about Adele, a French woman who defies all recommendations to forget finding her father. But with her mother dead, Adele wants to connect to the man who left when she was too young to remember him.

She takes a job as personal chef for a wealthy man near where she last heard about her father, figuring she could look for him in her spare time. Her plans are nearly derailed by the estate manager and the millionaire’s assistant, who tempt her by having a sexual encounter outside Adele’s window. They are shocked and pleased she joins them. The hijinks continue as Adele obtains help in searching for her father.

There is an interesting twist at the end and lots of hot sex scenes throughout, including a variety of BDSM activity.

I rate this with four paddles for story and 4.5 stings for kink

Review:

At its core, Northern Passion is a murder/mystery with some very good sex scenes thrown in here and there. The scenes actually work well for progressing both the plot and the relationship between our two main characters, Sam and Desiree. Our kink comes from public sex, which Sam and Desiree seem to enjoy, a swinger’s club, and a surprising FemDom scene two-thirds of the way through the book. The swinger’s club aspect is actually the motivating factor for the murders that takes place at the beginning of the book.

‘Northern Passion’ takes place in France where Sam and Desiree are on a vacation in a “quaint” secluded hotel. They work together as investigators. Well, one supposes they are investigators as it is never made 100% clear, but from comments and interplay with their boss it would appear that is what they are. While staying at the hotel, Sam and Desiree get to see and experience the after effects of a tour bus crash which kills all the male members of a wedding party that had just arrived at the hotel. While trying to piece together what happened, they meet the distraught “sister” of one of the victims and feel compelled to help her.

Sam and Desiree go under cover in an ex-pat neighborhood outside of Paris as husband and wife.  From there we are introduced to the swingers club that thrives in the neighborhood, the Passion Club. As this is a murder/mystery, I cannot give away what actually happens as that ruins the reveal, which takes place on the Observation Deck of the Eiffel Tower. What is interesting though is the lack of jealousy between Sam and Desiree when it comes to the swingers club activities. ‘Northern Passion’ is the second book in a series of books, but one does not need to have read the first one to enjoy this one. It may help in answering a couple of questions that develop while reading (what exactly is their job, what is the exact nature of their relationship, etc) but all it makes one do is want to read the first book, ‘Eastern Spice’.

As far as the sex in ‘Northern Passion’, as mentioned it is not over the top gratuitous and fits in well, and in fact helps move the story along. The scenes are well written, and have a decided spice factor to them, but they don’t quite reach the heart thumping, libido in overdrive effect. Then again, they are not meant to. They are there because, well sex is life, and sex can lead to death, so they belong where they are. ‘Northern Passion’ is, when it is all said and done, a murder/mystery novel with a side of kinky sex. Enjoy the read.

Review:

Summer Sins is a novella that tells the story of Emma Fallon and Adrian Cayne. Emma is a journalist who writes for Scandal, a tabloid magazine. Her current assignment is to infiltrate TropiX, an exclusive sex club in southern Florida, and write a salacious story about the events going on there and the famous people participating in them. Emma is at TropiX to get her story, but also to explore the BDSM lifestyle for herself. While at TropiX, Emma is introduced to Dr. Adrian Cayne, a neurosurgeon and a well-respected Dom who has been off the dating market for the past 6 months. Adrian has been burned by past submissives who have jeopardized his career and broken his trust. While there is instant chemistry and attraction between the two, will it be enough to entice Adrian to venture into the dating pool again, and if he does, will Emma’s secret of writing for Scandal destroy any hope of a lasting relationship?

Summer Sins is a story of exploration and discovery. The book is well written and grabs the reader’s interest from the very beginning. The characters are well developed and are very three dimensional. The interactions between the characters are logical, their motivations make sense and the reader can feel the chemistry between the characters. There are a couple of places in the book where the reader is not easily identified. However, the quality of the story itself makes up for the minor inconvenience of trying to figure out the speaker in a couple of interactions.

The kink factor was pretty good. The main characters engage in voyeurism at the club and take part in a discrete public scene in a restaurant. They also partake in spanking, high protocol and bondage. The kink scenes are well described and exciting.

Overall, Summer Sins was a fun and engaging read and is highly recommended for those who are looking for a good story that is not a full length novel.
