Honeymooning in England, Jesse Colter, Adam Sinclair and their beloved wife, Sarah, are heading for their friend Thorne Cahill’s BDSM club for dinner when another car deliberately tries to run them off the road. Thanks to their own driver’s skills, the other car is destroyed, the two unknown occupants killed.

Through Thorne, they discover that they’re the targets of a “blood feud”, instigated by Konstandin Sokolov, son of Viktor Sokolov, the Albanian mobster who had unwisely kidnapped Sarah a few months back, and paid for it with his life. They also discover that Thorne’s guests, ruthless human traffickers, have gathered for a slave auction being held the following night. Konstandin Sokolov happens to be one of the buyers.

Fraught with treachery, betrayal, and deadly danger, Keeping Sarah keeps the reader on a knife’s edge of tension, while simultaneously exploring the deepening emotional commitment between Jesse and Adam. They already trust each other with their lives. Now they must learn how to trust each other with their love.

This book is a satisfying conclusion to the series. My biggest issue with the book is the recurring sex scenes between Sarah, Jesse, and Adam. They are pretty much all the same. It’s good to see that Adam and Jesse finally get to have their moment and realize their feelings for each other. I would have liked to have read a scene with just the two of them doing more than kissing and doing more without Sarah. There’s nothing wrong with the two of them loving each other without having to always have Sarah in the picture. All in all, this is a good read and a good ending to the trilogy.

It’s been a month since Sarah Marshall was kidnapped and held at knife-point by her ex-fiance.  But Jesse Colter and Adam Sinclair, her two loving Doms, know that there is an even deadlier threat still out there—Ryder Malone.

He blames both Sarah and Jesse for sending him to prison eight years ago for attempted rape, and he’s determined to make them pay. So, he begins a systematic campaign of terror and intimidation against them. But the danger he poses doesn’t end there.

Set against the deepening love and commitment between Sarah, Jesse, and Adam, Owning Sarah is more than just a sexy, sensual, BDSM love story. It is a harrowing race against time for Jesse, Adam, and a team of former SEALs to stop one of the biggest arms-for-drugs deals in U.S. history. And to rescue Sarah before Malone sells her to a human trafficker and she’s lost to her men forever.

Absolutely loved the suspense that was a constant theme throughout this entire book! The recurring theme of Sarah submitting to her two Dom’s – Jesse and Adam, their deeper and deeper commitment to each other, wonderful! Loved how this book wasn’t always all about Sarah submitting, wasn’t always all about the sex, but that there was a deeper story behind that. Granted the sex scenes were super hot, but it’s always nice to see a real story line in books!

The growth that all three of these characters go through from the previous book, Loving Sarah, to this one, a refreshing change!

This book is very detailed in the scenes that needed it, like the first time that Adam did a rope scene with Sarah. Then towards the end the Collaring Ceremony – wonderful, I don’t think that I’ve read another collaring scene quite like this one.

Full praise for this conclusion to Sarah, Jesse and Adams story – job well done Julie Shelton!

Eight years ago Jesse Colter fled his small town, leaving behind eighteen-year-old Sarah Marshall. Now a retired Navy SEAL, he’s back and he wants only one thing – Sarah Marshall – bound, naked and kneeling before him.

Sarah has never forgotten Jesse, the object of all her sexual fantasies since she was fifteen, as well as the star of nightly dreams that have become increasingly erotic over the years. So when he suddenly reappears in her life, she warily agrees to let him introduce her to his world – the word of BDSM. When he also introduces her to his best friend, Adam Sinclair, Sarah faces the challenge of submitting to two powerful, Dominant men.

But Sarah has an even bigger challenge. A stalker. Someone from her past, determined to destroy any chance she has at happiness. Can Adam and Jesse love and protect her? Or will her world explode in betrayal and violence that will destroy them all?

In reading the blurb this book sounded really good. Nothing like having two Doms and some mystery and suspense to fill in the gaps. It even started off really good. Talk about a bad day…getting a ticket from the new chief of police, your old hottie, and then drive away like your tail was on fire. He made a wrong move, but it fit perfectly.  It sounded like there was going to be plenty of good story line before the sex and BDSM came into play. Unfortunately, there was not a whole heck of a lot of mystery and suspense. There was however a lot of sex. Lots and lots and lots of sex.

It took 151 pages of pretty much just sex to actually get back to the threat to Sarah. It felt very disappointing. And Jesse, a Dom, moves way too fast with an inexperienced sub. He fully admits that he’s moving too fast, yet he continues to keep pushing. His reasoning is he can push because she’s a ‘natural sub’ so it’s all okay.  When Jesse first shows Sarah the playroom they discuss punishment. If she needs to use her safeword she will be punished. Sorry, but safewording should not be punishable, especially for new sub. Seriously?!

Finally, after who knows how many pages, Adam gets introduced into the mix and it’s right into the ménage scene. The first scene is a tad extreme for a newbie and then Sarah’s getting punished on top of this. Mind you, at this point in the story we find out that Jesse has never actually administered disciplinary punishment before even though he has played with many pain sluts so he does know how to use a cane properly.

Finally there is the mystery and suspense that one would think would have been throughout the entire story line shows up. The last 30 pages of the book were actually probably the best. BDSM and sex are all good and well but the blurb suggested much more than was actually in this story. Thankfully the ending was good as well and one can assume that there might be a sequel to this story.

When you first started writing, did you have any idea you’d be writing BDSM/kinky books?

When I first started writing, I was six years old, so, no, I had no idea Id be writing BDSM/kinky books.  Even as late as ten years ago, I had no idea I’d be writing BDSM/kinky books.  Then I discovered Lora Leigh.  And from there, Maya Banks, Cherise Sinclair, Leah Brooke, Shayla Black—the list goes on and on.  And now I can’t see myself writing anything but BDSM/kinky books. lovingsarah

At what point did you decide you wanted to write BDSM/kinky-themed erotica?

At the point five years ago where I thought I was writing a perfectly vanilla medieval historical romance and all of a sudden I realized that I had introduced the hero’s best friend into his relationship with the heroine and the three of them were having scorching sex together!  Imagine my shock!  However I rallied and now I can’t picture myself writing about anything else.  In fact, I plan to go back and convert the very vanilla Gothic novel I wrote years ago to include elements of BDSM.  A pretty tall order, since, Gothic novels, by their very description, didn’t even include SEX!

At this point in your career, do you think you’ll write more BDSM/kinky erotica?

I’m already writing more BDSM/kinky erotica. I am nearly finished with the sequel to my first book, and hope to get it sent out to the publisher by the end of May.  I’ll be sure to let you know the publication date, so you can pass it on to your readers.

Do you write BDSM/kink erotica based on what you find interesting or sexy, or do you write more for your audience?

I write for myself, since I am my audience.  However, I realize that there are a lot of people out there who love reading the same kinds of things I do, so I figure if I find it intriguing or sexy, lots of others will, too.

What might be something of interest to your fans that you don’t think they know about you?

That I am an escapee of right-wing Christian fundamentalism.  Just couldn’t take the “it’s my sacred Christian duty to point out to everyone I meet (including strangers in the street) that if they don’t think like I think and do like I do, they’re sinful, worthless people and they’re going to hell.”  Never could understand what gave anyone the right to go to another country and tell the people who live there that their entire belief system and way of life is all wrong and they have to convert to my belief system and way of life in order to be worthy of God’s attention.  Still don’t understand it.

What’s the most surprising piece of feedback you’ve ever received from a fan of your writing?

Actually, the most surprising piece of feedback I’ve ever received was from someone who was not a fan of my book.  Even though the words menage and BDSM Collection appeared on the front cover and in the back cover blurb, this person obviously had never heard of the concepts.  She was shocked—shocked—at the disgusting things the abusive hero did to the doormat heroine.  And although she professed to hate it, she did mention enough scenes that occur well beyond the half-way point in the book to let me know that, in spite of her “revulsion”, she actually kept reading it.  I’m still nonplussed.

Do you do any “hands-on” research when you’re writing BDSM/kinky themed erotica?

Since I’ve been divorced longer than I’ve been writing erotica, you can probably guess the answer to that one.  I would love to find a truly safe place to do “hands-on” research with a partner who is at least as old and out of shape as I am—which is to say, really to the first and totally to the second.  If you know anyone who fits that description…
