Review:

Ken is rather bored with his life as a mailman but he isn’t quite prepared for the turns his life takes when he is assaulted and left bound naked in his mail truck one day on his delivery rounds. Not only does he have to deal with the public notoriety of being the “naked mailman”, he also finds himself unable to rid himself of the image of his assailant, and the submissive feelings the man has awakened in him.

As it happens, the man who attacked Ken, Devon, is also having a hard time getting the mailman out of his head. Devon was desperate to get away from the hit men and dirty cops that were out to kill him. Ken was just in the wrong place at the wrong time when Devon needed a disguise to make his escape, but there was something about the mailman that hit all of Devon’s dominant buttons.

Despite the risk, Devon tracks Ken down and enlists his help to get him to the FBI to give evidence about the shady dealings of a pharmaceutical company at the local prison. It’s more of a kidnapping, but it doesn’t take much effort to convince the curious Ken to accompany him. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned and the two end up on the run.

“Naked Mailman” is a kinky little romance with a little something for everyone. With the added angle of Devon being a werewolf — who can’t shift — the story walks a very fine line between being a fantasy you can get into and going over the top with too many things going on. Fortunately it stays just this side of the line, delivering a plot you can almost believe. It’s helped in large part by the relationship that develops between Ken and Devon, which doesn’t depend on anything more mystical that the attraction between a submissive who has found his Dom.

Although the scenes between the two men are few, they are quite hot and build gradually as things go along. There isn’t anything very extreme, but there is a good selection of bondage and discipline as Ken finds out he’s something of a pain slut. Devon seems to be a good Dom who respects Ken’s limits even as he is testing them.

As a romance, “Naked Mailman” works reasonably well. In spite of the werewolf sub-plot, the main characters are quite believable. If there’s a flaw, it’s that even with all the chaos happening around them and their shaky beginnings, things go a little too smoothly between Ken and Devon. Their instant relationship is just a little too good to be true, but that’s a fairly common nit to pick with romance. This book is not great literature, but it is a diverting enough read.

Publisher’s Note: A Good sub Would was previously published in the Doms of Dark Haven 2 anthology which is no longer available. It has not been re-edited or revised for this edition.

Shelby, a wanna-be sub, hasn’t found a Dom strong enough to push past her need to be in control. Her experiences as a sub have been yawn-inducing. She’s fantasized plenty, though, about Trevor Lawton, one of Dark Haven’s legendary, mouthwateringly firm Doms.

As the stakes get higher at the charity poker match, Dom Trevor Lawton is fascinated by the woman kneeling across the table from him. Problem is, she’s not a good sub. Oh, she tries, and she’s lovely. But she’s not very good at following orders. The woman needs a firm, unyielding hand…his.

Review:

Our kinksters are Trevor Lawton and Shelby Salazar who is a a sub who has been topping from the bottom.

Master Trevor wins Shelby at BDSM poker game. She’s been topping from the bottom for a long time but when Master Trevor wins her for the week he gives her what she truly needs. Fantasy type BDSM scenes tame Shelby and they quickly develop strong bonds for each other.

I like how Ms Cartwright writes BDSM and will always be looking for more of her work.

Review:

Too Hip For Love is another delightful novella by Van Yssel, featuring realistic characters undergoing believable struggles. Karen is an experienced submissive who has been a member of a BDSM club called Knotty and Nice for years. She’s made close friendships there and it’s become her safe place.

Karen has a regular Dom, Parker, with whom she has a regular play date every Saturday afternoon at his house. Parker is her Master but outside of this arrangement they are free to play with others.

This arrangement once satisfied her but Karen’s biological clock is ticking and she longs for children and a loving relationship but feels increasing sure that this picture is unlikely to include BDSM. She loves Parker but feels unable to share her feelings with him, She is convinced that Parker likes variety too much to become attached. These are issues that will strike a chord with many women both kinky and vanilla.

Both Parker and Karen are very good at communicating their kink needs but not their emotions and it takes Karen joining a vanilla dating site to give them both a push in the right direction.

The author’s writing style is clear and literate and her characters are warm and believable. A thoroughly enjoyable read but I wish that Ms Van Yssel would consider moving away from the novella format and write some full length fiction.

Porn stars are frequently considered as whores because they make money having sex. When BDSM is added to the mix, it only makes people assume the worst about the BDSM porn star.  Ferron Cooper considers herself to be a bondage model, even if she is filmed in bondage whilst enjoy multiple orgasms. Whatever she wants to call herself doesn’t mean squat when a male fixates on her and plans for her abduction and sexual slavery.

I’ve read a couple of Ms. Harper’s earlier non-con stories and they didn’t do much for me. The reason was because she blurred the lines between non-con and romance of it so that it became conflicted and unsatisfying. In this one, it’s wonderful to see how she’s straddled the line and created an erotic non-con romance. Is there such a thing?  Yes, there is and it’s not because the female experiences Stockholm syndrome.

The BDSM scenes in this story are definitely spank-worthy. For those who fantasize about forced orgasms and bondage, this story is for you. Ferron is bound, gagged and sexually violated to the orders of her owner. This bastard is from her past, waiting for just the right time to mete his revenge out on her. Because there are two different men involved in this story, it draws the boundaries between the non-con and the erotic sexual assaults. Even the erotic sex are deliciously rough. The BDSM heat is about medium in intensity and well written. Ferron’s inner dialog and her responses makes the story more enjoyable. From a non-con perspective, Ms. Harper could have upped the cruelty more and it would have made the book more guiltily arousing.

The characters, Ferron and her captor, Mayer, are both simple characters. There is a little character development to help explain why Ferron decided to go into bondage modeling. Just as the reason for Mayer’s part in this kidnapping and breaking is revealed. Whilst this builds some back history, it doesn’t really develop the character by showing a flaw which they overcome or somehow grow from their experiences. Still, this doesn’t detract from the story since the focus is really on the depraved non-con scenes. This erotic sexual slavery is recommended for kinky readers who enjoy kidnapping fantasies.

Review:

This is one of those books that I had a tough time separating my reviewer self and my actual self.  As a submissive, I have a deep inner sense of who I am and what I want. And yes, I want a Dominant to challenge me, push me a little, take care of my needs not what I think I want.  But I have a very definite line that I don’t want crossed.

Charlotte goes way beyond those lines. The story is a beautiful one. Senior Felix recognized the submissive she has always been and offered her a chance to be his sub. He’s a wicked Dominant with definite sadistic characteristics. The scenes in this story are amazing and hot. Senior Felix is the perfect, cold Dominant who maintains absolute control of his submissive.

What bothers me about this story is that throughout Charlotte’s experiences, she is convinced (and there seems to be no disagreement from the author) that if she says her safeword, the whole relationship is over. What?  Now I’m going to call that what I think it is. Bullshit. I hated how the other Dominants called her a “wimp”. And I hated how she thought of herself that way. But then again, Charlotte seemed to get aroused by the degradation and that is perhaps the key here.  Though there were several times I disagreed with Senior Felix and the way he pushed Charlotte’s boundaries, I think the characters were drawn well enough that I didn’t feel she had been manipulated or coerced. The ending of the story was very abrupt and it’s the only time Senior Felix seems to give the kind of reward I felt Charlotte deserved for what she did for him.

The story made me question my own submissive needs and wants, which is a good thing I think.  It opened my mind to possibilities and ideas that I hadn’t considered in a long while. The writing is brilliant and the scenes are perfectly executed.  I thoroughly enjoyed the depiction of clit torture, temperature extremes, and bullwhipping-three things I’ve never tried or considered trying. If a fiction book can add to things I’ll possibly try, it’s a great success. The flogging and spanking scenes were great.

This kind of submission is not for everyone. Charlotte is willing to go much further than I would consider going. But I loved how Senior Felix called her on her fantasies about D/s. He rightly stated that she had been “coddled” and that most of her D/s desires were shaped by fiction. Well, I understand that completely.

I related to Charlotte and though I wouldn’t want the same things she wanted, I enjoyed reading about her search for fulfillment. This is a fantastic book and worth picking up.  I loved this author’s writing and would read any book by her.

Fantasizing about a man taking you hard and in a primal manner?  Riane Coello is a business woman used to working long hours with high stress.  For once, she’d like a man to take her roughly and hold her down.  When a chance meeting with a man during a jog takes her breath away, she wants more.

Ms. Harper pens a lovely bit of sexual fantasy.  The switching back and forth between reality and Riane’s imagined desires is a nice touch.  The characters in this story are straightforward with little development.  The focus is on their sexual chemistry and it is delightful.  The imagery is vivid as these two strangers go wild.

There is no real conflict in this story.  This is a what if story.  What if one moment in time makes such an impact that it is a life changing event?  Is this for the good or for the bad? It’s tightly written with a smooth finish from beginning to end.  The ending does leave it open for a possible follow up with Riane and her dominating new lover.

This short story an erotic teaser for those who enjoy a bit of kink with their one night stand.  Recommended for kinky readers who enjoy fantasies coming to life.

He admires her strength, her determination and the spankable parts drive him over the edge. The closer he gets to her, the more he desires her trust. But there are more secrets than the ones Victoria keeps, and uncovering them might cost more than either of them ever dreamed. Even with all that’s at stake, Atticus knows he can’t give up offering her the temptation to submit.

Review:

Love comes in the most unlikely ways, even when we think we can never have it. How often do we deny what we really feel and get in the way of our own happiness? This is an engaging story that explores how our heart can rules our choices, if we could just open up and trust.

Victoria Rodgers likes her job, numbers make sense, they are safe, distracting. Even though she feels like no one really cares for her, she cares. She cares about the company she works for and the people it employs. When ConFed starts the take-over process she facilitates the process knowing they will save the company and save jobs.

Her new boss is Atticus Paulus. She calls him Finch, after Aticus Finch from “To Kill A Mockingbird” and he is driving her nuts. She can’t stop thinking about him; all of him, each piece of him that she wants to fulfill all her darkest fantasies with.

The kink here is not an overwhelming part of the story, but it really works well. I did enjoy the kink scenes and thought they were very well done. This is an enjoyable read that I enjoyed very much.

This entertaining novella isn’t about someone hiding her Dom from others, but about two lovers who keep so many secrets from each other, they nearly destroy their relationship.

Jared took Pam’s virginity, but then got so busy at work that he neglected her. He was also afraid of exposing his Dominant needs to his newly initiated lover. Pam, stung by his neglect, went to dinner with a co-worker, only to be discovered by Jared. Following the scene that ensued, Jared admitted his need to Dominate and Pam discovered her submissive side. But both of them are reticent people and are keeping secrets from each other. Can they overcome their need to keep things to themselves to develop a real relationship?

Expect bondage, spanking, caning, anal play, and more as the couple explore their physical relationship along with their emotional connection.

I really liked Pam, although I liked her mother even more. Pam was a strong woman who kept her secrets to protect her vulnerable side. Her honesty, caring, and intelligence made her an admirable character.  Jared was a little tougher to like. He ended up as a really good guy, but way too often he showed himself to be a hit of a hypocrite and got too much into the idea that he needed to protect Pam from his life.

In spite of that, this was a fun, easy read, well written and not quite in the same vein as so many of the introduction to submission stories.

Review:

There are many full length novels which would be improved if they were 100 pages shorter. This novella suffers from the opposite problem, it’s a novella which would be a great deal better if it was 100 pages longer and the author had developed both the story and the characters.

The title is a little deceptive. This is not an age play story but a M/M/F ménage romance set in the world of show business. Kenny Lockett is a middle aged rock star with health issues. His manager, Jamal is also his Top and for years they have been sharing scenes with professional submissives.

When Kenny’s health issues begin to affect his concerts, a young woman, Olivia, is hired as his personal assistant. Her duties include keeping him off alcohol and making sure he eats healthily. Olivia has ambitions as a singer. Her previous experience is limited to singing in the choir at her mother’s church but she hopes that her new job will bring her the valuable contacts she needs to succeed as a professional singer.

Treva Harte is a competent author and she writes well. I particularly liked the interracial aspects of this relationship, an area that isn’t often covered in erotic romance. Olivia and Jamal are sympathetic characters, although I found Kenny’s infantile behavior irritating. Perhaps behaving like a whiny baby is a common failing among rock stars who are accustomed to getting their own way all the time.

Of the three, Jamal, the ruthlessly efficient Jamaican manager is the most interesting character but the least well developed. At one point, he is described as having an, “almost British accent” Does this mean that he spent much of his childhood in England which is entirely plausible. An extra sentence or two would have provided some necessary back story.

Kenny and Olivia begin a very vanilla relationship. Kenny is ashamed of his love of bondage and is very reluctant to admit to being bisexual. It is only when Jamal is brought into the mix that things begin to become more interesting but at this point the book ends, somewhat abruptly.

I don’t know whether the author intends to follow up this book with a second volume which explores the dynamic of this trio. I hope so because it has potential.

Research in the name of writing…oh yes.

Every author has to go through it and when writer Elizabeth Clark is plagued by dreams of a sexy Dom that she just can’t shake, she takes things up a notch. Appearing at a local BDSM club, she meets Chase Masters, club owner and Dom. The two react to each other like oil and water, setting a great conflict for the rest of the book.

Elizabeth hates that she can’t get rid of the desire to write about BDSM. Stopping and starting, her fear is soon eclipsed by desire for the hot and drool worthy Chase Masters and she embarks on a journey of submission and awakening.  The other issue is Elizabeth’s senator father who is trying to shut down the club. She is unaware of the problem until the end of the book, but the tick tock time element was a good addition to the plot and gave Chase a real reason to be a bastard some of the time. Too much pressure with the threat of the club being shut down and issues with his family. He and Elizabeth both have anger issues to work through, but during the trial period they set up, both find out things about each other that push things into much deeper water.

The conflict with Elizabeth and her father in her own right was something I could also identify with. He hated what she was and what she represented, especially when he discovers some of her writing. The horror and dread of what she went through chilled me. *shivers*

I am a sucker for loving books about writers learning new things in the name of their craft. Sometimes they are ho-hum, but others, like this one, kept me reading long after I should have been working, sleeping or writing on my own deadlines. Author Rachell Nichole has a way of capturing the emotion of a scene and making you want to just be there, sucking it all in. I felt the trepidation Elizabeth experienced when Chase tied her down in their initial meeting and the angst he felt later. Wow.

The sex scenes were hot and she got into some fine detail that others lack in the way she described them. I totally loved it. Hot, kinky and a great twist at the end had me grinning like a Cheshire cat. I will be standing in line for the next book- I  hope there will be one- and am happy to have her holiday book in my e-reader right now. Nicely Naughty 2, an anthology with the amazing Nona Raines and Caitlyn Willows.

So grab this book and enjoy the ride. It was a great read with some snappy dialogue and I can’t wait for more!
