Phoebe’s Desire is not a BDSM themed novella. It’s not even what I’d consider kinky. It is, however, one clever little read. In my opinion the story line is amusing and unique.

Phoebe is stuck in a miserable existence as an acquisition editor for an unnamed publisher. She toils through her slush pile that never ends. She starts to read yet another manuscript that she is sure is going to suck. It’s then that she notices her name in the story. And from there she finds herself actually in the story she was reading. Now like I mentioned, this is a short read of only 44 pages, so I don’t want to give it all away. I will say the ending was exceptionally clever and it made me chuckle.

Phoebe’s Desire is a super easy read. And even when I realized there was no BDSM in it, it didn’t make me like it any less because it was such an enjoyable story. In fact, I found myself wishing it was longer because it ended too soon. My rating is based on my enjoyment of the story and I’m not giving it higher because there was no BDSM and it was submitted for review to a BDSM site. If you’re looking for cute and clever, this might just work for you like it did for me.
